In two of the three pictures, Nathan is seen alone. Is this conclusive proof that Nathan is the favorite grandson?
No "attempt" to climb a peak can ever be described as a "failure." Merely to attempt is to succeed! Getting to the top adds to the feeling of accomplishment, but does not make an unfulfilled attempt a "failure."
